As with many car bluetooth systems, the Durango's has an approximately 0.5-1 second lag when it comes to audio/video sync so don't plan on using bluetooth for playing video. No issues with GPS reception, even though it is inside the dash.įor audio, the bluetooth syncs right up to the car's interface and works great for music. This system has a separate GPS antenna to provide data to the box which I mounted inside the top of the cavity where the Uconnect screen sits. The 8.4" panel is only a 4 wire touch unit and it did take a few minutes to get used to the physical pressures required for performing "button push" and "swipe" actions but it's really not bad at all. The system looks good overall, and is really only limited by the the limitations of the factory screen. I plan on cutting a couple of grooves and reinstalling that light to finish that up. I utilized the tray light hole to run the cables by popping out the tray light itself which is secured in with a small tab.

The only tricky bit during the final install for me was running the USB and AUX IN/OUT cables which I ran down to the tray below the climate controls (near the USB/AUX IN ports) because things get a little tight down there.
As long as you follow the directions and take your time, this can be accomplished by even an amateur. It was pretty painless with the only hangup during the screen modification portion being four T-10 (I think) screws on the left and right side of the Uconnect screen that some dolt at the factory seriously over-torqued and took a little coaxing to get off.
